A good counselor walks by your side as you discover new possibilities for growth and meaning in life. I'm glad you are considering having me as your companion through this stage of your journey.
My practice is located in Clintonville; a neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio. I provide individual counseling and psychotherapy to adults. I also offer consultation and supervision for mental health professionals and lead workshops for healthcare organizations on culturally-competent services. My research interests include the intersection of culture, spirituality, bereavement, and psychological adjustment. I am fully bilingual and offer services in English and/or Spanish.
I earned a doctorate (PhD) in Counseling Psychology from Andrews University (Berrien Springs, MI) and completed a doctoral internship and a post-doctoral residency at The Ohio State University, Counseling and Consultation Service. I also hold a master's degree in counseling (University of Phoenix, Puerto Rico Campus) and a bachelor's degree in theology (Universidad Adventista de las Antillas, Mayagüez, PR).
I am a licensed psychologist (LP) in the state of Ohio and a National Register Health Service Psychologist (#55979). I am also licensed to practice mental health counseling and provide training supervision in Ohio and Florida (LPCC-S, LMHC). I have more than 18 years of experience working at university counseling centers, community mental health, and private practice. Previously, I served as a senior staff psychologist at The Ohio State University Counseling and Consultation Service and as an embedded psychologist at the Moritz College of Law. I am a member of the American Psychological Association, the National Latina/o Psychological Association, and the Ohio Psychological Association.
I grew up in Puerto Rico and love to visit the island to spend time with family and friends. In my free time, I enjoy road trips through country roads, landscape photography, watching movies, and spending time with my family.
